Sunset Charter

Join us on board Juan II for a relaxing cruise along the beautiful and rugged coastline between Gordon's Bay and Cape Hangklip. This section of coast offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country and has the added bonus of whale, dolphin and seal viewing and the possibility of sighting the elusive cape clawless otter. Sunset cruises take in the beauty of the African sunset across False Bay whilst sipping champagne to the tranquil sound of the sea.

Come aboard a luxury 41ft yacht and sail the cape waters. Customise a trip around Cape Point from Houtbay to Simonstown and Gordonsbay, or Mykonos via Dassen Island where crayfish is your staple diet during an overnight stop at anchor of the Isand populated with Jack Ass penguins. Or just set off for a sunset cruise with drinks and snacks served at anchor off Clifton. Then set sail for the Langebaan Lagoon to the fully equipped marinas at Club Mykonos. The marinas are equipped with TV cables, water and electricity. From Mykonos one can navigate up the lagoon to some tranquil anchorages within the westcoast nature reserve for peacefull overnights. The fishing on the lagoon is exceptionally good. One can expect to catch bream white Stumpnose, Elf and Yellowtail. There is no other way to eat seafood other than straight out of the sea into the pan.

The boat

The yacht is a Vickers 41, 7 berth, two doubles and 3 singles, equipped with a furling genoa, loose footed main sail and a windlass for an easy cruise. All safety equipment is up to date including an 8 man life raft. There is a 16 mile Furuno radar, GPS, VHF, Epirb and all relavent charts and books for local water sailing between Luderitz and Port Elizabeth. The galley has a three burner gas stove with an oven, a microwave and pressurized water. The boat carries 400 litres of freshwater and 90 litres of diesel. The 35hp twin cylinder BMW marine engine runs on 4 litres per hour including a safety margin. The heads has a freshwater shower.
